In the oyster shells, we collected from her brother’s beach in Washington state

The horseshoe crab and conch shell from her shoreline

The painting of the skiffs

The ginger jar from a trip to her favorite antique store in Sandwich

The candlesticks from a different trip, different antique store (poor Daniel was convinced we’d be stopped by airport security on the way back to DC because “haven’t you ever played CLUE? That is DEFINITELY a weapon!”)

An eight-foot mantle.

The square footage of loss is astounding.
